Road tax

Today we saw a lot of people que up at post office to claim their so called 'subsidy'... good for those cars below 2000cc...

Once again, the government overlook another section... i.e. those driving above 20 years old cars that has cc between 2000 - 3000. They think all car owners driving cars within those cc are rich, without knowing that these cars are in fact owned by who are really in need...

e.g. A are torn between owning a Proton Wira that cost him RM30,000 or an excellent condition 23 years old Volvo 240GL with 2300cc that will cost him only RM1000 to buy... Since A just had very limited budget and decided not to tie him up with monthly installment, he finally decided on Volvo car...
furthermore, the spare parts are lower than wira at half cut shop... But sad to note, he end up paying more road tax than his rich nephews, C & D that driven BWM 520 and Mercedes C200 Kompressor that both cost his nephew more than RM200,000 each...

My question... why the government keep on charging road tax based on cc? Are they being fair people like A? Don't the government think his nephews should be the ones that pay more?

Well... this is BN government... had a very limited thinking....
