hahaha...

my posting today equaled to all postings in 2009.... free sangat ke bang? kekekeke...

Three of the best stories I came across

We learn a lot through our experiences in life.

The following 3 examples of TURTLES, FROGS and THE PRETTY LADY teach us some lesson.
Enjoy reading the same and do ponder over them.

************************************************************************************

The Turtles

A turtle family decided to go on a picnic. The turtles, being naturally slow about things, took seven years to prepare for their outing. Finally the turtle family left home looking for a suitable place. During the second year of their journey they found a place ideal for them at last!

For about six months they cleaned the area, unpacked the picnic basket, and completed the arrangements. Then they discovered they had forgotten the salt. A picnic without salt would be a disaster, they all agreed. After a lengthy discussion, the youngest turtle was chosen to retrieve the salt from home. Although he was the fastest of the slow moving turtles, the little turtle whined, cried, and wobbled in his shell. He agreed to go on one condition: that no one would eat until he returned. The family consented and the little turtle left.

Three years passed and the little turtle had not returned. Five years...six years... then on the seventh year of his absence, the oldest turtle could no longer contain his hunger. He announced that he was going to eat and begun to unwrap a sandwich. At that point the little turtle suddenly popped out from behind a tree shouting, 'See! I knew you wouldn't wait. Now I am not going to go get the salt.'

MORAL OF THE STORY : Some of us waste our time waiting for people to live up to our expectations. We are so concerned about what others are doing that we do not do anything ourselves.

The Frogs

A farmer came into town and asked the owner of a restaurant if he could use a million frog legs. The restaurant owner was shocked and asked the man where he could get so many frog legs! The farmer replied, 'There is a pond near my house that is full of frogs - millions of them. They all croak all night long and they are about to make me crazy!' So the restaurant owner and the farmer made an agreement that the farmer would deliver frogs to the restaurant, five hundred at a time for the next several weeks.

The first week, the farmer returned to the restaurant looking rather sheepish, with two scrawny little frogs. The restaurant owner said, 'Well... where are all the frogs?' The farmer said, 'I was mistaken. There were only these two frogs in the pond. But they sure were making a lot of noise!'

MORAL OF THE STORY: Next time you hear somebody criticizing or making fun of you, remember, it's probably just a couple of noisy frogs. Also remember that problems always seem bigger in the dark. Have you ever laid in your bed at night worrying about things which seem almost overwhelming like a million frogs croaking? Chances are pretty good that when the morning comes, and you take a closer look, you'll wonder what all the fuss was about. I got 2 frogs in the office now though...

The Pretty Lady (My favourite of all)

Once upon a time a big monk and a little monk were traveling together. They came to the bank of a river and found the bridge was damaged. They had to wade across the river. There was a pretty lady who was stuck at the damaged bridge and couldn't cross the river. The big monk offered to carry her across the river on his back. The lady accepted. The little monk was shocked by the move of the big monk. 'How can big brother carry a lady when we are supposed to avoid all intimacy with females?' thought the little monk. But he kept quiet... The big monk carried the lady across the river and the small monk followed unhappily. When they crossed the river, the big monk let the lady down and they parted ways with her. All along the way for several miles, the little monk was very unhappy with the act of the big monk. He was making up all kinds of accusations about big monk in his head. This got him madder and madder. But he still kept quiet. And the big monk had no inclination to explain his situation. Finally, at a rest point many hours later, the little monk could not stand it any further, he burst out angrily at the big monk. 'How can you claim yourself a devout monk, when you seize the first opportunity to touch a female, especially when she is very pretty? All your teachings to me make you a big hypocrite The big monk looked surprised and said, 'I had put down the pretty lady at the river bank many hours ago, how come you are still carrying her along?'

MORAL OF THE STORY : This very old Chinese Zen story reflects the thinking of many people today. We encounter many unpleasant things in our life, they irritate us and they make us angry. Sometimes, they cause us a lot of hurt, sometimes they cause us to be bitter or jealous .. But like the little monk, we are not willing to let them go away.We keep on carrying the baggage of the 'pretty lady' with us. We let them keep on coming back to hurt us, make us angry, make us bitter and cause us a lot of agony. Why? Simply because we are not willing to put down or let go of the baggage of the 'pretty lady'. We should let go of the pretty lady immediately after crossing the river. This will immediately remove all our agonies. There is no need to be further hurt by the unpleasant event after it is over.

What about you?

Golf – why this is my favourite game…

Golf - My favourite past time...

Initially, I shared same opinion with non golfers that golf is a 'stupid' game... Place a ball on a tee, hit it far. There after you walk towards your golf ball and hit it far away again, then chase the ball again etc... Some more you play under the hot sun, heavy rain etc in Malaysia...

Somehow or rather, it was fated that I had to pick up this game more than 10 years ago due to business/work requirement... from engaging pro to buying all necessary apparels and equipment which costs me more than 10k then, I slowly started going to the green...

In the first few games, I didn’t enjoy it much due to scorching heat and mainly due to unable to hit the ball properly... But once you managed to swing the ball properly, that’s where you start to hook on it...

This game is a game where you actually compete against yourself... You are competing against your own capability in controlling your emotion, mental, body movement etc towards approaching your game... when you fail, you fail against the above... this in return make you determine to play again to overcome your previous ‘failure’/mistakes

Another aspect, this game is also exposing ones true character... that’s why quite a number of people like to discuss business over the golf game...

By playing the game with your flight mate, you can see their honesty, temperament, wills/determination towards achieving their goals, etiquette, considerations towards others etc... You will also see whether they are sincere in their friendship with you... (How? Too much for me to elaborate here) Through this experience, I learned a lot and because of this, I still enjoy playing golf till to date even though not as frequent as before...

Other than the above, this is also an opportunity for me to relax, release all the stress, get a bit of exercise & enjoy the beautiful scenery/environment...

Talking about scenery or particularly golf course overall, well nothing beats experience playing golf in Indonesia... For me (as a man, Muslim & Malay), I would rate the best course by countries as follows; Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Thailand, Australia, US, Middle East & Europe...

Indonesia had amongst the best layout & most beautiful golf courses in the world... designed mostly by top golfers in the world, it was well maintained due to labour intensive engaged in maintaining the course... This was followed by excellent hospitality, pleasant/friendly lady caddie, reasonable fee, nice weather, excellent food & last but not least, easier communication... To me they have a complete package... oh ya, not to mentioned great traditional massage & spa treatment which suits best after your long hard day in golf course...

Some ladies/wife reading this may think negatively when you read the caddie, massage & spa, but honestly, it was ‘clean’... in fact, there are a lot of ladies golfers too and these ladies do share same opinion...

At the end of the day, in anything we do, there’s always good and bad element, it is all depending on how we approach it... just like money... you can use all your money to do good deed or for bad things... same thing like golf activities...

Damn, get myself diverted... back to golf topic...

Actually, golf also had huge potential to children... with huge sponsorship & following worldwide, it was in deed a very good option for children who wish to make it as a career... all they need is a proper training, technically & mentally... mental strength is very crucial to succeed in golf... well, I think I should not dwell so much on this as otherwise will take me forever to explain...

On amateur level, most golfers also enjoy a lot by participating in friendly corporate tournament... my boss for instance, had virtually furnished his house by participating in such tournament... you just name it, he won LCD/Plasma TV, DVD/VCD player, washing machine, dryer, iron, fridge, CD player, Home Theatre etc on top of cash, flight tickets, holiday vouchers, golf apparels and so on...

As for me, I had fair share of it too despite of not seriously into it...

I think, I started going off topic...better log off now... bye & enjoy some of the photos

30 second Speech by Bryan Dyson (CEO of Coca Cola)

~ A good advice.............

VERY SHORT, MOST EFFECTIVE AND HOW TRUE 30 second Speech by Bryan Dyson (CEO of Coca Cola)

"Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them - Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit and you're keeping all of these in the Air.

You will soon understand that Work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back.

But the other four Balls - Family, Health, Friends and Spirit - are made of glass. If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it."

Moral of the Story: WORK EFFICIENTLY DURING OFFICE HOURS AND LEAVE ON TIME. GIVE THE REQUIRED TIME TO YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS & HAVE PROPER REST.

Don't Quit

When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,

When the funds are low, and the debts are high,

And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,

Rest, if you must, but don’t quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,

As everyone of us sometimes learns,

And many a failure turns about,

When he might have won had he stuck it out;

Don’t give up though the pace seems slow,

You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out—

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,

And you never can tell how close you are,

It may be near when it seems so far;

So, stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit—

It’s when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit.

Office Politics...

I’m getting disgusted with the office politics nowadays... things are getting from bad to worst... from amongst the shareholders to senior management level...

From normal office politics (for senior management), things getting worst when there is an involvement of third party i.e. ‘bomoh’ to charm another person/s... What the hell??

If such information coming from normal person, I usually will brush it aside... but coming from reputable ustaz after he perform his prayers coupled with some ‘proof’, this is getting really spooky & disturbed me... In fact, I’m one of the victims but not the main target though... Sigh...

This is the problem working with ‘malay/bumiputra’ management control company... when you cannot fight them fair & square, you used charm...

Back to the problem, I never expected somebody who look very religious & innocent can do such things... but come to think of it, no wonder this person managed to jump so high up within short period of time without doing much... the sad part, everybody including the old and new CEO are ‘blinded’... they simply listen and take this person word without even bother to investigate... worst, when we tried to explain, the CEO does not seem to listen or understand...

As for me, no wonder in the last 1 month or so, I’ve been dragging my feet to the office, what he/she did was, to kill all my spirits/enthusiasm to work and even come to the office... I always felt dizzy whenever I’m in my room... Initially thought due to new non smoking rulings, but now things are better after this ustaz help me...

From what I gather, he/she expected me to resign soon and this was even conveyed to one of my ‘staff’... I don’t know why, but my guess, his/her main reason because now, he/she saw me as one of his/her threat to his/her ambition... I recently secured a few huge projects which will be one of major contribution to the company overall income for the next couple of years...

What saddened me most is because I’m the one who brought her/him in... I never expected he/she will turn against me and worst resort to such action...

Anyway, I wish him/her luck... I fear Allah s.w.t more than anything... you can be the next CEO for all I care, but one thing for sure, I’ll be the next millionaire soon (insyaAllah) and not even interested to be the CEO... hahahaha...

Anyway, before I leave later, I will release my trump card that make you jobless... majority shareholder is on my side, not the chairman as you depend on...

Gosh...

Damn... how time flies... somehow or rather things keep on happening & reminding me that I'm no longer young...

One young girl tried to flirt with me today... guess what? she is only 17 years old!!! Only 2 years older than my daughter... oh my god!!! Initially, i just played along thinking she is in her 20's... suddenly i realized her age and immediately jolted me... She is as young as my daughter... hahahaha... back off mate...back off...

Anyway, left me smiling alone thinking that she keep on addressing me as 'abang' just now when my daughter call me 'abah'... hahahaha

Fun Time...

Recently, we had a go-kart race in Shah Alam amongst my club members...

Well anyway, this is after affect of the inter car club competition held last year... seems like this gonna be the beginning of it when there are request for it to be held monthly with sponsors already coming in...

Anyway, for me, since this is my 2nd time participating, I started to learn the tricks of the track and kart handling... well it worth it since I managed to get to 3rd placing during qualifying (timing) and 4th in overall race... considering other experience & faster driver participating, this is not a bad feat... Oh ya...out of 14 racers... The final result are as follows

1. Rizat
2. kimi
3. iceman
4. yours truly
5. penyu
6. hashha
7. rd2d
8. babol
9. sapro
10. golfaholic
11. paei
12. wakiki
13. volvoman
14. adpg

Below are some of the photos...the rest is in my facebook...enjoy...

Sharpen Your Skills

Once upon a time a very strong woodcutter asked for a job with a timber merchant, and he got it. His salary was really good and so were the working conditions. For that reason, the woodcutter was determined to do his best.

His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he was supposed to fell the trees. The first day, the woodcutter brought down 15 trees.

"Congratulations" the boss said. "Carry on with your work!"

Highly motivated by the words of his boss, the woodcutter tried harder the next day, but he only could bring 10 trees down. The third day he tried even harder, but he was only able to bring down 7 trees.

Day after day he was bringing lesser number of trees down.

"I must be losing my strength", the woodcutter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on.

"When was the last time you sharpened your axe?" the boss asked.

"Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees..."

That's right. Most of us NEVER update our skills. We think that whatever we have learned is very much enough. But good is not good when better is expected. Sharpening our skills from time to time is the key to success...

Khasiat Buah Pisang

This is interesting...

Perhatian:

PMS:
Lupakan pil-pil hospital, makan sahaja pisang.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD):

Strok:
Mengikut kajian dalam buku ˜The New England Journal of Medicine˜, mengambil pisang sebagai diet harian mampu mengurangkan risiko kematian akibat strok sebanyak 40%!

Lain-lain Penyakit Kulit:

Menakjubkan!

Change... For better?

Well... sometimes you need to be 'knock' before you wake up...

Somebody very close to me had been ignoring all my advice and 'plead' for a very long long time... then something unexpected happened (well, I've been praying hard for this to happen anyway), she changed 100%...

I'm happy to note that she changed for better and hope she will remain this way from now on... as for me, what mess I'm in now and how am i gonna clear it up... thinking...thinking...

Do people deserve second chance?

This is another issues that always have conflicting answers...

As much as most people would love to give a second chance, more often than not, they are not ready... this is more so when the mistake made can be considered severe to the affected individual...

So when we reflect again how our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. can be so forgiving, we will realised how difficult it is for us to follow suit...

As for me, through out my life so far, I've been giving so many people 2nd or 3rd chance but sad to say, not many appreciate it... Time and again I'm always been let down by these people but some how my inner belief always supersede my heart/anger...

Yes, I'm upset, I'm angry and make hell lot of noise... but that's it, once I let go everything, I forget and forgive...

I nevertheless will always be me and will continue to forgive and forget even though not many appreciate...

Trust

What a way to start a year...

On the first day of the year, I had the biggest letdown in my life (if not in the last 20+ years)... Hope this is the only one for this year not the first...

In my life, I build everything around TRUST... To me, TRUST is a must in everything, be it relationship, business deal, family matters, friendship etc. Without it, nothing matters...

It does not matter how it begin, but the moment you betray it, the effect will take a very long time to heal if not lifetime...

You may make the mistake but most of the time, people refuse to understand what the root of the problem is or what trigger it that lead to the problem... No matter what, that will never be an excuse for you to ignore all your promises and betray the trust built all these years... Yes, there are times you lied, but you lied because you refuse to hurt the person you care & love... in fact in some instances, certain individual would like to hear your lies than the truth because they prefer what had happened didn’t happened... they wish it is just a bad dream and refuse to accept reality... sigh, things are complicated especially dealing with ‘strangers’ around you…

As for me, since I always built everything around trust, I tried to be honest as much as I can... If I cannot tell them directly, I will hint them repeatedly hoping they will get the cue and had the courage to ask me directly... But at times, you find it very difficult when the person simply choose to ignore it and later when they discover, they start blaming me for what they call lies... It hurt me, at one side, you want to be honest, but on the other side you don’t want to hurt the person you care...

One simple example, recently, we (me & my group of friends) had problem with somebody... the problem is nobody had the courage to stand up and tell the person, the worst, they smile and joke like usual even though in their heart, full of suspicious, hatred, disappointment etc... they talk bad and gossiping behind the person but smile and joke when they are in front of him/her... As for me, I’m simply opposite, I will not hesitate to show the person of my displeasure right in front of him/her... either through word or body language... if the person concerned approach me, I will not hesitate to tell everything truthfully... it may hurt the person, but that’s the truth... sometimes the truth hurts... but my intention is for the said person to understand and rectify his/her mistakes... I believe, everyone is good and as human being nobody can escape from making mistakes, they may not realize it, so it is your responsibility to tell him/her hoping he/she realize it and rectify it... One thing that saddened me most, more often than not, at the end of the day, the said person end up hated/start avoiding me instead and remains close to those pretenders... The lesson I learned through this experience is; there are times you need to lie and pretend, to safeguard the relationship even though you don’t like it...

That involved friendship... business wise, you had fair share if it... all these to certain extent you can still stomach it... but when it involved somebody closer/dearer to you, the effect is far greater... In marriage especially, without trust, it may lead to collapse coz it is one of the main pillar in marriage...

It hurt me the most cause I realized that this world nowadays are full of lies and deception... as for me, no matter what, from this moment on wards, I only TRUST MYSELF and nobody else... period... one more person out from my circle now...
