Last weekend I joined a few friends for my first Dirt Crawler session… The event was organized by bro "old_skool” who is kind enough to bring his Fiat 131 drift machine and one of his buggy…
We started the day by having breakfast at mamak restaurant (opposite IOI Mall) in Puchong at 8.30am before proceeded to the site 30 minutes later… the site was ex-mining area just next to the Elite highway going towards KLIA…
Together with bro hashha, uncle cap48, bro golfaholic and his son, velasquez and his girlfriend, Sue, as well as my 13 year old son, Afiq… we arrived at the site around 10am and was greeted by bro old_skool and his friends…
Looking at bro old_skool’s buggy and drift machine, everybody was eager to put their hand on the steering wheels… bro hashha started the ball rolling on the buggy and soon after I followed suit…
Whilst bro old_skool started his drifting techniques in his trusted fiat 131 which really awe my son… (he's a drift ardent fan)
Bro hashha then took over in drifting and showed us a few stunts with most of us admiring from the side… somehow, his act made most of us getting excited and velasquez started drifting in his 240SE…
I was excited too but dare not try it on my 240 (coupled with no experience in drifting too)... Finally with the guidance of bro old_skool, I brave myself to try the drift… wow… not bad… but when I had the opportunity to do 'donut', that's where the real fun started… wooohooooooooo…. Really 'shiok' man…. Making 3 – 4 donuts turns at one time…
I then let my son, Afiq to get the feel of driving… teach him on how to drive in buggy and hey… not bad for the first timer… a bit nervous initially but after a few rounds, he started to feel confident already…
Given a few more practice, he can start driving smoothly… soon after he keep on telling me, he wanted to learn how to drift the car…. Hahaha…. relax my son... relax... Take it one at a time...
Bro hashha & velasquez then decided to go for a spin in velasquez's 240… after a few turns and twist, coupled with all the excitement, the didn't see one big hole ahead and the car literally flying over the hole before resting at the other end with a broken shaft… luckily nothing serious but the car need to tow back though…
Whilst waiting for the tow truck, we also watch the buggy jump done by bro hashha and bro old_skool… unfortunately, after a few jump, the buggy’s shaft bend and got to get it fix…
Due to scorching heat, Uncle Cap and I decided to leave around noon with the rest still playing with their buggies and drift machine…
It’s a wonderful experience though and most importantly I’m happy to spend time with my son who also shared same interest with me… till then…
Ciao
